About Blanket
Blanket is a personal job-search assistant that runs on your own computer. You open it in your browser at an address only this computer can reach. You create one account (your name, email and a password) that is stored only on this computer; the same login works in the Blanket extension. There is no cloud copy of your data.
What it does
- Reads your resume. Upload a PDF, Word, text or Markdown file, or paste the text. A rule-based analyzer (no AI model, no network calls) lists your roles, skills, experience and education, and every finding points back to the resume text it came from. You can keep several resumes, name them, pick one to search with, and archive the ones you no longer use.
- Finds jobs. It searches HiringCafe and Indeed from this computer, and LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter and Monster in your own browser through the Blanket extension, where you are already signed in. Only search titles and a place go to job sites. You choose the place and the distance, and search with titles you type or titles your resume suggests.
- Checks fit. For each job it compares the requirements with the evidence in your resume and the answers you confirmed. Eligibility, relevance and evidence are shown separately, and "unknown" stays unknown instead of being guessed.
- Tracks applications. The Applications page follows each job through Saved, Pending, Applied, Interviewing, Offers and Closed, with a dated history. An application counts as confirmed only with outside evidence such as a confirmation email or the employer's portal.
- Helps you apply. A browser worker fills Workday and Oracle HCM application forms from your saved answers and resume, and opens queued jobs one at a time. It has three modes: Search only, Fill-only (it stops at Review and you click Submit) and Auto submit (it sends the application for you, after you accept the terms once). It asks you for anything it does not know, and never guesses work-authorization, legal or demographic answers.
- Keeps your sign-ins. A password vault, encrypted with your account password, holds the logins for job-site accounts. You can also link Gmail (read-only) so Blanket can find verification and confirmation emails from job sites.
- Optional AI help. Off unless you add an OpenAI key. Each use is a separate action that shows exactly what would be sent before anything is.
What it is not
- It is not a hosted service. There is no Blanket server and nobody operates one.
- It is not affiliated with any job site, employer, Workday, Google or OpenAI.
- It does not promise results. Fit labels, eligibility and parsed resume details are automated estimates; check them against the job posting.
Read the Terms of use before you turn on Auto submit, and the Privacy page to see what leaves your computer and when.
